The screens commonly used in screen printing are mainly nylon nets and polyester nets. The color ink of the Nylon Mesh has good passability, and is mostly used for clear printing of color patches. However, the nylon mesh has been loosened for a long time and is not suitable for the printing of fine prints. The elongation of polyester webs is low, so polyester screens are often used for fine screen prints.
The low mesh size of the screen hole is large, suitable for printing a large area of color blocks, the price is relatively low; high mesh number mesh hole is small, suitable for printing fine works, the price is relatively high. A silk screen print usually has several sets of color editions, and the fineness involved is not the same. From the perspective of cost and printing effect, it is recommended to use a high and low number of screen meshes. Different color inks are used for prints. Generally, lower mesh screens are used for water color inks, and higher mesh screens are used for oil (solvent) inks.
